glacier national park

after a year in quarantine, we finally hopped on a plane to montana and broke in our trail runners. the snowcapped mountains and turquoise waters reminded us of the canadian rockies, but we saw more wildlife on these hikes: yellow-bellied marmots, mountain goats, ground squirrels, bold bighorn sheep, and even two bears.

we walked along trails that hugged rocky cliff edges, over alpine meadows dappled with colorful wildflowers, to a glacier mirrored in an icy blue pool, and through a cool valley of cedars and hemlock.
